Computer Information Systems Student Organization

Mission Statement:

Encourage and promote students in developing software projects that can be presented to prospective employers.  Additionally, to network and educate students on software development in business, and how to contribute to open source software.

Planned Activities:

The organization will:

  • Invite guest speakers from within and outside the University to speak to members about the various careers and certificates available to our majors.
  • Engage in discussions about the opportunities available to our majors.
  • Collaborate on software projects.
  • Present projects that students have done or are working on.
  • Consider field trips such as to conventions or various businesses.
  • Help students build their portfolio.
  • Host workshops to sharpen student’s skills.
  • Discuss any other activities the members would like to explore.
